Connecting What eBay asks you to approve What happens in the first few minutes If the connection is refused

Connecting is a sign-in on eBay's own website. You never give Baiord your eBay password, and there are no developer keys to set up.

Orders held from 15 Oct 2026

Orders eBay created before this date stay out of Baiord for good — a fee change or a refund on one never brings it in. Orders already held keep updating whatever their date. The date can move earlier, never later.

Grant application access: Baiord

Baiord is requesting read-only access to your seller account. It will be able to:

View your orders and order history
View your fees, payouts and transactions
View your returns, refunds and cancellations
View your active listings and seller standard

Baiord cannot change your listings, prices or orders. You can withdraw this access at any time from your eBay account settings.

From which date should Baiord hold your eBay orders?

Your account is importing from 15 Oct 2026 — the last 14 days. Keep that, or choose an earlier date to bring in more history. Orders placed before your start date stay out of Baiord for good, even when eBay changes their fees later, so old history never clutters your figures. eBay only serves fees for the last 90 days, so that is the furthest a start date can reach; and it never moves later.

LiveConnecting, playing on its own: Connect eBay account hands you to eBay, which asks you to approve read-only access — Baiord never sees your password. Back in Baiord the account reads Connected, you are asked once how far back to import, and the history fills in while you watch.

Connecting

  1. Open the connect screen. New accounts are sent there automatically right after sign-up. Otherwise it is the Connect eBay card on your dashboard, or Settings → Connections → Connect eBay account.
  2. Sign in on eBay. You are on auth.ebay.com — eBay's own page, not a Baiord form. Baiord never sees what you type there.
  3. Approve read-only access. eBay lists what Baiord is asking to read and you press agree.
  4. You come back to Baiord. Orders begin importing immediately, and a progress box appears in the bottom-right corner.

What eBay asks you to approve

Six permissions, all of them read-only:

PermissionWhat Baiord uses it for
OrdersYour sales, their line items, buyers, dispatch and delivery
FinancesFees, transactions, refunds, disputes and payouts
AccountYour account's settings and marketplace
IdentityWhich eBay user you are, and which marketplace you are registered on
AnalyticsYour seller standard — Top Rated, Above Standard, Below Standard
ListingsYour active listing catalogue, including items that have never sold

There is no write permission anywhere in that list. See what Baiord can and cannot do for what that rules out.

What happens in the first few minutes

  1. Your currency and time zone are set from the marketplace your account is registered on.
  2. A start date is set — by default the last 14 days, so the first import is quick. You are then asked once whether you want to reach back further; see choosing how far back Baiord imports.
  3. Orders import first, fees follow. That is the order eBay serves them in, so an order can briefly show its sale price before its fees arrive.
  4. A recurring sync is scheduled so new sales keep arriving on their own.

The progress box at the bottom right reads Importing your eBay history… with a running count of orders and fees. It deliberately shows no percentage: the true total is not known until the import ends, and a made-up percentage is worse than none. Leave the page if you like — the import runs on Baiord's servers, not in your browser.

The eBay sign-in link is good for about fifteen minutes and can only be used once. If you left the tab open overnight, or pressed back and tried to re-use it, start again from the Connect button rather than reloading the old page.

More in Your eBay connection

What Baiord can and cannot doBaiord's eBay access is read-only. What that covers, what it rules out, and how your connection is stored. Choosing how far back Baiord importsYour start date decides which eBay orders Baiord holds. Why it defaults to 14 days, why 90 is the limit, and why it only moves earlier. How syncing works, and how oftenWhat runs every five minutes, what runs every few hours, why fees arrive after orders, and what Sync now actually does. Reconnect needed: why, and how to fix itWhat makes eBay withdraw access, what you see when it happens, and the thirty-second fix. Nothing already imported is affected.

Still stuck? A person reads every message.

Email support@baiord.com

Baiord connects to eBay through eBay's developer APIs with read-only permissions, approved on eBay's own sign-in page. It cannot list, end or reprice an item, message a buyer, issue a refund or move money, and it never sees your eBay password. You can withdraw its access at any time, from Baiord or from your eBay account.

Profit is what eBay reports — the sale, the postage your buyer paid, any discount you gave and every fee eBay charged — less the buying price you enter, with refunds, fee credits and supplier refunds on the order they belong to. Sales tax and VAT that eBay collects and remits are neither revenue nor cost. An order without a buying price is left out of profit until it has one.

Days and months start at midnight in your workspace's time zone — the zone eBay cuts your statements in, set from your marketplace. A refund counts in the month it arrived unless you choose the month of the original order.

Prices are in US dollars and are the whole price; no VAT is added. Each eBay account has its own workspace, so two sets of books never mix: Solo covers one account, Multi covers three.

Features are subject to change. Some features, such as Finance, are switched on per workspace.
