Occasionally eBay withdraws Baiord's access to your account. Baiord stops importing, tells you, and waits. Nothing you already have is affected, and reconnecting picks up every order that was missed.
What causes it
eBay revokes an app's access for a small number of reasons, and all of them are things that happened on your eBay account rather than in Baiord:
- You changed your eBay password.
- You removed Baiord from your eBay third-party application permissions.
- eBay reset or revoked the grant itself.
An ordinary eBay outage or a transient API error does not put your account in this state. Those are just failed syncs, and the next tick retries them. "Reconnect needed" means eBay specifically told Baiord the sign-in is no longer accepted.
What you see
- A red "Reconnect needed" badge on Settings → Connections.
- "eBay: reconnect needed" in the sidebar, in red.
- A notification in the bell — "Reconnect your eBay account": eBay has withdrawn Baiord's access, so new orders are not arriving.
- An email to the workspace owner — subject "Action needed: reconnect your eBay account".
- A line in Activity.
You are told once per outage, not once per failed sync.
The fix
- Open Settings → Connections.
- Press Reconnect on that account.
- Sign in on eBay and approve access again.
It takes about thirty seconds. Reconnecting keeps every order, buying price, note and month total exactly as it was — it replaces the sign-in, not the data. The next sync fills in whatever arrived while access was withdrawn.
Reconnect also fixes missing permissions
A reconnect re-grants Baiord's full current permission set. That matters because eBay only ever grants new permissions on a fresh consent: an account connected before Baiord started reading listings, for instance, does not have listing access until it reconnects. If a feature tells you to "reconnect to grant access", this is the same button and the same thirty seconds.
Reconnecting is always allowed, even if your plan's account allowance is full — it is re-approving an account you already have, not adding one.
